Stump and Johnson Earn ZLL Scholarships

Congratulations to Judy Veatch Memorial Scholarship recipient Allie Stump and Chuck Keraga Memorial Scholarship recipient Soren Johnson.

The recipients were presented their awards on May 6, 2026 at the ZCHS Senior Honors Night by ZLL Board Member Bernie Paul.

These scholarships are awarded each year to high school seniors who played in Zionsville Little League.  The Keraga Scholarship is awarded to a former ZLL baseball player and the Veatch Scholarship is awarded to a former ZLL softball player.  Each scholarship is valued at $1,000 and is based on the applicant’s involvement in ZLL, their academic performance, participation and leadership in extracurricular activities, and the quality of a written essay about how their experiences in Zionsville Little League helped prepare them for college, a professional career, and family life.

The scholarships were created to honor the memory of longtime ZLL volunteers Chuck Keraga and Judy Veatch.  More information about Chuck, Judy, and these scholarships can be viewed here.

Allie is the daughter of Melissa and Matthew Stump. She played softball in ZLL for 7 years. While in high school, Allie played softball, was active in Best Buddies, Student Council, and the National Honor Society. Allie plans to attend Purdue University in the fall to study in a health and science related field.

Soren is the son of Carol and Jeremy Johnson. He played baseball in ZLL for 6 years and was a ZLL umpire for 6 years. While a student at ZCHS, Soren participated in track and cross country. He participated in the Technology Student Association and the National Honor Society. Soren plans to attend Trine University in the fall where he will study civil engineering and continue his cross-country and track careers.
