Starting with the 2020 Spring Rec season, ZLL will be implementing new registration and communication systems to improve our registration process and our ability to communicate effectively with ZLL families.
Our primary tool for registration and communication in 2020 will be TeamSnap. If you have used TeamSnap for your children in other sports or organizations, you can continue to use your existing TeamSnap account and will not need to create a new account. If you have never utilized TeamSnap in the past, we’ll need you to set up an account when you register your child for our 2020 Rec season.
ZLL will be managing registration, team rosters, game and practice schedules, communication, and other league functions through TeamSnap. For example, when team rosters are formed, families will be immediately notified of their team assignments and the name of their manager. This way we can provide essential information more quickly, and eliminate work for our team managers.
If you have a smartphone, we highly recommend you download the TeamSnap App on either IOS (Apple) or Android. The TeamSnap App will allow you to view your roster, follow your schedule, and communicate with your team.
The ZLL Board selected TeamSnap because the range of features offered by the system, in conjunction with the smartphone app, make it the best service available to organizations like ours.
ZLL is also ending its usage of the RainedOut texting service. While we found this system was extremely useful, the company which operates RainedOut has informed ZLL that it will no longer be a free service. The cost proposed to ZLL was extremely expensive for us to send out text messages to number of participants we have. Instead, we will be using TeamSnap and other tools to inform families of urgent information.
We recommend families who have used RainedOut unsubscribe to their service. You unsubscribe to receiving texts (or emails) by changing your subscriptions on the RainedOut web site.
In early January, RainedOut will be sending out messages to subscribers informing them of the new pay-for-service model, and will be requesting subscribers to pay for the service. Since ZLL will not be using the service in 2020, there won’t be any value to you to subscribe to this service. It will be best if you unsubscribe now to avoid any confusion in the future.
