Major league capital improvement projects planned for Zionsville Little League and Lions ParkZionsville Little League is moving forward with plans to implement two significant investments in the Lions Park baseball and softball facilities in order to improve the quality of our fields and increase player safety. These projects, described below, require funding above and beyond the revenue we normally collect through player registration fees and sponsorships. Your tax deductible contribution will help ensure these plans can be a reality. To donate to the 2017 ZLL Capital Campaign, please click the PayPal donate button to the right. This will take you to a PayPal payment portal where you can donate by credit card or with a PayPal account. The payment portal is set up so you can donate any amount you like. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by May 15. We will keep you apprised of our progress in attaining that goal via our Facebook page and Twitter feeds. We will recognize all contributors after the Capital Campaign is completed. If we meet the $25,000 goal through this campaign, ZLL will not need to conduct a raffle fundraiser this year. So donate now and share the message with your friends and family! Lions Park Drainage ProjectLions Park’s proximity to Eagle Creek impacts how water drains from ZLL’s baseball and softball fields. We know the Park floods occasionally, but little can be done about those natural events. We can, however, improve how water drains from the Park during normal rain events and reduce game cancellations/delays and improve the quality and appearance of the fields which are negatively affected by poor drainage. This summer ZLL and the Lions Club are planning to implement the first major drainage project in Lions Park in decades. This project will improve conditions for all fields and the batting cages by improving the flow of the water out of the park after the flood and allowing the fields to dry faster than current levels. Fields 6, 7, 8, and 9 will benefit greatly from this project. Field 1 Dugout ReplacementsDue to flooding, water flows and natural freeze/thaw cycles, the structure of the Field 1 dugouts structure changed over the years, causing the roofs to become unsafe. We have demolished the old dugouts and replacing them as quickly as we can. The cost of this project is approximately $10,000. This was an unforeseen event and was not a budgeted capital improvement project in the ZLL 2017 budget. Please consider donating to Zionsville Little League Capital Improvements for 2017 to enhance the experience for the youth baseball and softball players in Zionsville for many years to come. |
