In Monday’s tournament action, several teams advanced closer to Championship Saturday.

The Majors featured a battle of the Birds, where the Cardinals prevailed over the Orioles.  The A’s downed the Brewers, to set up a Cardinals -A’s matchup to define the first team to make Championship Saturday.  The Orioles now await the winner of the Giants-Red Sox matchup in the Elimination Bracket.  The Dodgers and the Brewers will also compete to survive the Elimination Bracket.

In AAA, the Phillies were victorious over the Blue Jays in a well-played game that featured a complete game pitched by the Phillies Will Gregory.  The Phillies will take on the winner of the Rockies-Royals game.  In the AAA Elimination Bracket, the Marlins knocked out the Twins to survive another day.

In Rookie 7/8 action, the Indians downed the White Sox in a highly competitive game.  Meanwhile in Rookie 6/7 games, the Dodgers and Tigers advanced to the Final Four of that single elimination tournament.

Tuesday night brings more baseball action and the softball tournament kicks off.  Come on down to the park to support the kids.
