The Romas Family Dental Pink Flamingos won the Majors Softball Championship by outlasting the Wulber Accounting Screaming Eagles.
Going into the 6th and final inning of the game, the Flamingos were trailing 5-4. With one out, Kristie Karch ripped a triple down the right field line. Megan Sheridan singled to tie the game with two outs, followed by Jessie Reid reaching base and a 2 run single by Lucy Garrett for the Flamingos to take the lead. Sydney Fisher and Maddie McHale each knocked in runs making the score 9-5 going into the bottom half of the inning. The Screaming eagles got runners on base but Madison Campbell made a big time grab and throw to first to end the game and final score of 9-5.
Both teams played exceptional softball. Claire Euginio and Claire Pyne led the Screamin Eagles ptiching 3 innings each and hammering the ball at the plate. Katlyn Kranovich, Claire Kennedy, Lindsey Huber, Sara Van Desant all added timely hits for the Eagles. Sydney Fisher and Lucy Garrett combined to throw all 6 innings for the Flamingos. Megan Sheridan was 3/4, Jessie Reid 2-3 while McHale, Fisher, Garrett, Karch each added hits.
The Flamingos were coached By Mike Garrett and the Screaming Eagles were coached by Pete Steiner.
