ZLL Establishes Judy Veatch Scholarship

At Friday’s Opening Night Ceremonies, ZLL announced the creation of the Judy Veatch Scholarship to honor the memory of the longtime ZLL volunteer who passed away in June 2016.

Judy and her husband Don raised three children in Zionsville, all of whom played in ZLL.  Judy spearheaded the volunteer efforts of the family, who spent countless hours at Lions Park prepping fields and coaching players.  Judy and Don remained active volunteers in ZLL long after their children were finished participating in ZLL.

After Judy’s death, her family decided to honor her legacy by directing memorial contributions to one of the special things in her life – ZLL.

The response was overwhelming and as a result, ZLL has established the Judy Veatch Scholarship which, beginning in the spring of 2018, will award $500 each year to a female high school senior at Zionsville High School who participated in ZLL for at least 3 years, and is a student in good standing at the school.

ZLL thanks the Veatch family for not only their generosity but for their ongoing love and support for all ZLL players and families.
