Strong Pitching and Offense Leads 11U All-Stars to Fall Creek Tournament Championship

The Zionsville 11U Green All-Stars won the 2013 Fall Creek Tournament last weekend sweeping through the tournament without a loss. During pool play, the All-Stars beat Fishers All-Stars, Broad Ripple All-Stars and First Baptist by a combined score of 41-11.

In the first elimination game, the 11U All-Stars defeated Ben Davis All-Stars 14-0 as Eli Everson and Ethan Maluccio combined on a 1-hit shutout. Caleb Berrong and Will Veit led the offensive attack with 2 hits and 2 runs scored each.

In the semi-final against Fishers, Seth Douglas and Tate Eugenio combined on a 2 hit shutout in the 10-0 win. Offensively, Eugenio had 2 doubles and 2 runs scored while Douglas also had a double. Will Pfister had the big blow with a 3 run homer, his second homerun of the tournament, to put the game out of reach.

In the championship, Andrew Davis and Sam Benedict combined to pitch and hold Broad Ripple All-Stars to 2 runs in a 9-2 win. Will Pfister led the attack going 3 for 3 and scoring 3 runs. Josh Carney was 2 for 2 with a double and a walk and Kyle Harmon was 2 for 2 with a bases clearing triple to knock in 2 runs late in the game.
