Great Year – our Zionsville girls have had a great year in 2015 and our All-Star teams were successful with the 10u team winning the New Pal tournament Championship and the 12u team winning both District and Sectionals! The 12U team is playing this week in the State tournament!
ZLL also returned to the Little League District 8 President’s Cup competition with five Majors teams competing and bringing the President’s Cup Championship to Zionsville!!
The rec season was exciting at all levels and had 207 girls in the program having fun and competing through championship day.
The Showcase teams in both 10u and 12u had amazing seasons that began last November with winter workouts and included more than just Sunday Alliance games. Our showcase teams not only played in the Westfield tournament this year but expanded the schedules to host teams like Bedford, Westfield, HTC and Carmel at our own Lions Park. Thank you to all the great volunteers that coached, maintained the fields and spent countless hours at Lions Park this year!
What’s Next – registration for Fall Softball is now open (see link at end of this message) and we have expanded to include all age groups from rookies through majors for this year.
Fall Ball evaluations are on August 15th at Lions Park Field #3. Rookies are at 1pm, minors are at 2pm and majors are at 3pm and each group will be finished in about 45 minutes. Fall ball teams play once or twice a week in a short, fun season from August 29th to October 10th. It also gives a chance for girls who will be moving up in age division to get some experience with the older girls. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to coach in Fall Ball as we have opportunities at all levels.
What’s New – besides expanding the ages in fall ball this year we are also expanding the Showcase Program to include a 14u and 8u team!!! At all levels we will have showcase workouts during the fall and winter, play in some fall and winter tournaments and continue to expand on the level of competition we face during the season. Combining the Sunday Alliance schedule with playing some top-notch All-Star caliber teams like Bedford, Westfield, HTC and Carmel give our girls a high-level schedule and a great experience.
Tryouts for Showcase will be held on August 9th at 2pm and the 13th at 6:30pm on Field #3 at Lions Park. Players can only play showcase if they are enrolled in the rec league as well.
