PLEASE READ THE BELOW INFORMATION as important ZLL process changes and Little League International (LLI) changes have occurred since last year.

Proof of Age and Residency:

Last year ZLL implemented the LLI mandated rule to collect/copy birth certificates and proofs of residence. This process change was met with fair to good compliance. This year, ZLL is requiring 100% compliance and every player must bring their original birth certificate and proof of residence to evaluations. PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ASSIGNED TO A TEAM UNTIL THIS INFORMATION IS RECEIVED.

A copy of the original birth certificate will be made at evaluations per LLI rules.

Proof of residence can be accomplished in several different ways.

1) For those players that attend ZCS, the LLI School Verification Form has been attached to the end of registration. You can download and print this form to be completed and signed by a school administrator (Principal, Assistant Principal, Administrative Assistant). Bring the completed form to evaluations.

2) For those players that attend ZCS, you may print and bring a copy of the players’ report card to evaluations. The print out from the ZCS website must have player name and school name on the report card. If you are unsure how to print the report card, ask your player or school adminstrator. ZLL does not look at the players’ grades. If you do not want the grades visible, please black them out.

3) For those players living within ZCS boundaries (ZCS and ZLL boundaries are the same) but do not attend ZCS, you must provide 3 proofs of residence within ZLL boundaries. The 3 easiest proofs to provide are a utility bill (may only provide one of these), active driver’s license, and car registration. These items need to be active or dated between Feb 1, 2014 and Feb 1, 2015. For other options please email the ZLL Player Agent, Ben McAfee, at playeragent@zionsvillelittleleague.org

New Baseball Age Criteria

LLI has implemented a major age determination change for the upcoming BASEBALL season. This change does not effect ZLL softball players.

For baseball players born on or after January 1, 2006, the player’s age for purposes of the 2015 baseball season is the player’s age on December 31, 2015.  In other words, the player’s age is the age they will turn on their birthday during the 2015 calendar year. Players will still be assigned to a division based on ZLL’s divisional structure.

Note: ZLL does not have a tee ball program for 4-5 years olds, ZLL programs start at 6 years old. For information regarding tee ball in the Zionsville area go to the Boys and Girls Club website, http://bagcoz.org/t-ball/)

The table below summarizes the player’s ages for the 2015 season – for those players born on or after January 1, 2006.

This age change will push an extra 8 months of kids into the 9 year old group this season for their first year of kid pitch. Those families with children in this age group can contact Ben McAfee at playeragent@zionsvillelittleleague.org with any urgent questions.

Softball age determination

Softball age determination does not change.  A softball player’s age is their age on December 31, 2014.
