Tuesday night tournament results

Tuesday night’s softball and baseball tournament action featured some high-octane offenses in full gear as teams continue their charge towards Championship Saturday.

The girls softball tournaments are now in full swing, as the Orange Crush tamed the Wildcats in the Majors bracket.  The Crush will take on the Bulldogs on Thursday for the opportunity to play in the Championship.  Wednesday evening the Gators battle with the Tide for the last spot in the final game.

In the Minors softball tournament, the Jayhawks cooled the Cyclones on Monday, and the Bruins stopped the Ducks.  Tonight the Wolfpack take on the Tigers to narrow the field to 4 teams.

In 50-70 Baseball, the White Sox flexed their muscles with a big win over the Cubs, thus earning the right to play for the Championship on Friday night.  Afterwards the Yankees and Reds slugged it out in a game lasting late into the night, with the Yankees prevailing 26-20, thanks in part to home runs by Wes Burkle, Griffin Brown, and Sam Hinshaw.  The Yankees play the Cubs on Wednesday night to determine which team survives the Elimination Bracket to play the White Sox on Friday.

In Majors Baseball, the Giants survived a topsy-turvy battle with the Red Sox by a score of 19-15.  The Giants now play the Orioles on Wednesday to stay alive in the Elimination Bracket.  Wednesday’s second survival game features the Dodgers and Brewers.

In AAA Baseball, the Jays topped the Royals in a slugfest and now play the Marlins on Wednesday night to determine the survivor of the AAA Elimination Bracket.  The winner of that game will take on the Phillies-Rockies winner in Saturday’s Championship.

The Championship game teams have been set in Rookie 7/8 baseball, as the Jays downed the Angels.  The Jays will take on the Indians Saturday morning at 11:45 AM on Field 2.

Four teams remain in the Rookie 6/7 tournament.  On Tuesday the Mariners and Rockies won, and they join the Dodgers and Tigers in the final four.
